2. A responsive website. If you have a very informative website with a lot of detail that is crucial to your business and can’t really be condensed, then a responsive website is the best choice. With a responsive website visitors are viewing your complete site from their mobile device, however it is designed for an optimal viewing experience on a range of devices from desktop computers, iPads and tablets to mobile phones. It will include options like a “normal” menu when viewing on desktop, but a dropdown menu when it is viewed on a smaller screen and changing the position of sidebars so you can still capture leads without having the sidebar cluttering the smaller screen of a phone. This fluid design is perfect if you need to share your information with visitors, regardless of how they access your site. Examples of industries where a responsive design is ideal would be, schools/colleges, florists or designers to name a few.
To have an app developed for your business generally involves a large financial outlay, so if it is something you are considering you need to be sure that it is necessary for your business and will provide your customers with enough value. Most people are not going to take the time to download and give us space on their device for an app that cant provide them with more than a good mobile optimised website can. For example they aren't likely to get an app to view your catalogue when they can do the same thing on your site. So who may benefit from an app? Businesses who offer special deals and discounts to people who use the app, business’s who like to encourage “check-ins” on social media sites, retailers wanting to allow customers to pay for products and services via the app or perhaps hospitality establishments who could allow customers to make last minute bookings.
